HP 64789 Series Emulators

The HP 64789A supports the Intel386(TM) DX processor with real-time, no wait state emulation to 33 MHz. User selectable foreground and background monitors with their own dual port memory provide maximum transparency and the ability to operate in interrupt intensive applications. This new emulator family supports both real and protected mode to facilitate code reuse.
The HP 64789A has an active probe which permits the use of long 914 mm (36-inch) cables for easy target system access without sacrificing electrical transparency or clock speed. The probe contains the microprocessor, emulation monitor, run control circuits and up to 8 Mbytes of emulation memory. Extensive breakpoint capabilities allow extensive flexibility in starting and stopping code execution at specific locations within complex programs.
Emulation control and emulation bus analyzer cards plug into a modular card cage that connects to the host computer via LAN, RS-232 or RS-422. An easy to use real-time C interface for the PC helps make it easy to access and apply the full potential of the emulator and related software design tools.
